A difficult race at Long Beach on September 25 dropped Turner Motorsport M6 GT3 racers Robby Foley and Bill Auberlen to fourth in GTD drivers’ points with two races remaining in the season.

An ABS failure early in the 100-minute WeatherTech Series race on the streets of Long Beach led to an encounter with a tire barrier on Foley’s stint, and the setback was compounded by a pit lane penalty.

The duo finished sixteenth in class, four laps behind Madison Snow and Bryan Sellers in the winning Lamborghini. Laurens Vanthoor in the Pfaff Motorsports Porsche that he shared with Zach Robichon finished second; Vanthoor and Robichon assumed the points lead in the class.

The WeatherTech Series runs again on October 8–10 at Virginia International Raceway, and the season ends with the Petit Le Mans race at Road Atlanta on November 11–13.—Brian Morgan
