Adam Morgan in the #33 Cicely Motorsport BMW 330i M Sport won the third race in the British Touring Car Championship event at Thruxton on August 29. His win and three podium finishes from Team BMW/West Surrey Racing extended BMW’s lead in the series’ manufacturers’ points chase.
In the first race of the day, Team BMW/West Surrey Racing’s Tom Oliphant finished third, while Morgan finished seventh and Team BMW’s Colin Turkington finished twelfth. The win went to Josh Cook in a Honda Civic Type R.
In race two, Oliphant scored another third-place finish, with Turkington sixth and Morgan eighth in a race won by Infiniti’s Ash Sutton.
Morgan, starting from pole in race three, held the lead from the start to finish, despite three safety car periods and a race-long challenge from Turkington, who finished second. Oliphant finished twelfth.
Stephen Jelley in the third Team BMW car had a difficult weekend but scored points in every race, with a fifteenth-place finish in races one and two and fourteenth in race two. Morgan’s Cicely Motorsport teammate Tom Chilton finished fourteenth in race one and seventeenth in both races two and three.
