Legends Of The Autobahn West is just over a week away, and this year’s gathering, scheduled for Saturday, August 14 during Monterey Car Week, is set to feature an assortment of some of the most compelling German automobiles ever made. In addition to the new M3 and M4 Competition xDrive models and the stunning and potent Alpina B8 Gran Coupé, BMW’s latest efforts in the electrical realm will also be present. Legends Of The Autobahn West will be one of the first places and among the few opportunities to see and touch the upcoming iX xDrive50 and i4 eDrive40 before their market introduction, which is scheduled for first quarter of 2022.
The BMW iX xDrive50 has combined output equivalent to 516 horsepower and 564 pound-feet of torque, a preliminary range of 300 miles, a top speed of 124 mph, and can accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 kmh) in 4.6 seconds. Dimensionally speaking, the iX is similar in size to the X5, but with a roofline comparable to the X6, and has a starting MSRP of $83,200. The i4 eDrive40 has a single rear motor which develops the equivalent of 335 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, a preliminary range of 300 miles, a top speed of 118 mph, and can accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 5.7 seconds. The starting MSRP of the i4 eDrive40 is $55,400, while its M Performance stablemate, the i4 M50, starts at $65,900.

The eleventh annual Legends Of The Autobahn® West, presented by Michelin, will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021. Registration is closed for concours and display cars, but spectator admissions is free, and no registration is required.
The new location for the event is the Monterey County Fairgrounds.
