The 2021 Nürburgring 24-hour race weekend will be filled with highlights for BMW. ROWE Racing will defend its title, the new M4 GT3 will be displayed, the BMW juniors will run their first 24-hour race in a GT3 car, and M Brand CEO Marcus Flasch will compete in an M2 CS Racing.

ROWE Racing won the pandemic-postponed 2020 race in September in an M6 GT3 driven by Nick Catsburg, Alexander Sims, and Nick Yelloly. As defending champions, ROWE will run #1 on one its M6 GT3s this year, with Catsburg and Yelloly in the car along with Philipp Eng and John Edwards. The #1 car will be one of seven M6 GT3s in the race. The others will be:

#98 ROWE Racing M6 GT3 driven by Connor De Phillippi, Martin Tomczyk, Sheldon van der Linde, and Marco Wittmann; #20 Schubert Motorsport M6 GT3, driven by Jesse Krohn, Jens Klingmann, Alexander Sims, and Stef Dusseldorp; #77 BMW Junior Team M6 GT3, driven by juniors Dan Harper, Max Hesse, and Neil Verhagen, along with Augusto Farfus; #100 Walkenhorst Motorsport M6 GT3, driven by Henry Walkenhorst, Friedrich von Bohlen, Jörg Breuer, and Andreas Ziegler; #101 Walkenhorst Motorsport M6 GT3 driven by Christian Krognes, David Pittard, Ben Tuck, and Jörg Müller; and #102 Walkenhorst Motorsport M6 GT3, driven by Mario von Bohlen, Sami-Matti Trogen, Jörg Müller, and Jakub Giermaziak.

BMW M Brand CEO Markus Flasch will share the #241 Adrenalin Motorsport Team Alzner Automotive BMW M2 CS Racing with Matthias Malmedie, Jörg Weidinger, and Niki Schelle.

One of the BMWs running in the SP10 class is of particular interest to BMW CCA Club Racing fans; the #74 Walkenhorst Motorsport M4 GT4, shared by long-time West Coast Club Racer Lance Boicelli, Cameron Evans (a West Coast racer who has also run in BMW CCA events), David Thilenius, and Charlie Postins. The car won its class in the six-hour qualifying race for the N24.

On the Wednesday before the race, the M4 GT3 will be shown for the first time in the livery it will run for its first races. Until then, we will have to be content with another photo that BMW Motorsport has released in the car’s test livery.—Brian Morgan
