Ladies’ Program Committee Update: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

BMW PC Ofest 2019

The Ladies Program Committee (LPC) is excited to share our progress. We are now listed on the BMW CCA National website under the “Activities” tab. There you will find our mission statement, the committee member assigned to your region, and a link to the Women Driving The CCA private Facebook Group.

Visit the BMW CCA Ladies Program Committee Webpage

The Women Driving The CCA Facebook Group is active and has been in the testing phase over the past few weeks. We would like to encourage the BMW CCA female membership to become part of our group and to join us for the camaraderie. We are requiring you to answer two questions for membership verification purposes. Please enter your CCA membership number to streamline the verification process. If you have difficulty gaining access, please send a note to ladiesprograms@bmwcca.org for assistance. You can utilize the page to connect with other members and/or keep in touch with members you may have met at a BMW gathering. You will be able to post ladies events, pictures from previous events, ask questions and so on. Perhaps you are looking for a suggestion for a gathering or have a suggestion to share—we welcome all questions and input.

Robin Warren shares a great idea in an excerpt from her story of taming the Tail of The Dragon—a great road bordering Tennessee and North Carolina with 318 curves in just eleven miles: “The Lady drivers kick their significant others out of the driver’s seat and conquer the Dragon for themselves and thus earn their very own window cling.” If you do a group tour, select a route or time to switch it up and let the women take the wheel.

Janet Kyota approached her chapter leadership suggesting a ladies-only autocross. It was a huge success and has been propositioned to become an annual event. Here are a few pictures of the 2020 RMC Women’s Autocross taken by Fox Chung. Reach out to your chapter officers with fresh ideas and see how much more fun we can all experience.

For the Driving Divas out there, we will try to get something going again at the BMW Performance Center. We want to further the enrichment of “The ladies with a need for speed.”

By the way, did you know we recently made an appearance on the Cars Yeah podcast? If you missed the episode with Lou Ann Shirk and Mark Greene, check it out here.

The Ladies Program Committee is dedicated to encouraging more active participation in the BMW CCA by its women members. Look for more information in the future on BimmerLife.—The BMW CCA Ladies Program Committee
