On Sunday, August 30, Colin Turkington in the #1 West Surrey Racing 330i M Sport scored two second-place finishes at Knockhill in Scotland to hold onto his drivers’ points lead in the British Touring Car Championship. A day earlier when the Nürburgring Endurance Series ran a six-hour race on the Nordschleife, three M6 GT3s finished in the top ten.

Turkington finished a very close second to Infiniti racer Ash Sutton in the first and second BTCC races at Knockhill. His WSR teammate, Tom Oliphant, finished eighth in race one and sixth in race two. With the grid reversed for the third race, Turkington and Sutton had to battle through traffic. In the end, Oliphant finished fourth, Turkington was ninth, and Sutton was eleventh. The overall win went to Rory Butcher in a Ford Focus ST. Turkington left Knockhill with a ten-point advantage over Sutton going into the series next race at Thruxton on September 19–20.

In the NLS race, won by the Audi R8 LMS GT3 driven by Mattia Drudi, Christopher Mies, and Kelvin van der Linde, three M6 GT3s finished in the top ten. Philipp Eng, Alexander Sims, Nick Catsburg, and Nick Yelloly finished fifth in the #99 Rowe Racing car. Augusto Farfus, Jens Klingmann, Martin Tomcyzk, and Sheldon van der Linde finished seventh in the #42 BMW Team Schnitzer entry, while David Pittard and Jordan Pepper finished eighth in the #34 Walkenhorst Motorsport M6 GT3. A Pixum Adrenalin M4 GT4 driven by Yannick Fübrich, David Griessner, and Florian Naumann won the SP10 class. The event was a prelude to the Nürburgring 24, to be run on September 26–27.—Brian Morgan
