Asked how he originally discovered the BMW CCA, he says, “A local event organizer created a driving event through some twisty roads in Shenandoah area of West Virginia. There I met many BMW CCA members of the National Capital Chapter.”
Being a member since 2010, what has been your favorite part? “The community of enthusiasts that puts together a great mixture of social events, DIYs, autocross, HPDEs, and group drives. This group has always provided me an opportunity to meet like-minded automotive enthusiasts and a chance to attend great events,” says Hans.
Tell us more about the M4 GTS pictured in your post. “I’ve been an occasional HPDE enthusiast for a few years now, and having the GTS on track has been nothing short of amazing! Unlike the bad press it may have received early on, I had set up the car properly for the race track, lowering the stock coil-overs torace height, adjusting the three-way dampening, maxing out the aero, and installing Ground Control camber plates. Ensuring that the water-injection system was working properly is also a must, as many GTS models have water filters that easily get clogged. I plan to continue driving this car at VIR, as it truly shines on the race track!” said hans.
